Altering firewall ports with 'system-config-securitylevel' tool

Note, this will most likely put your Open Client in violation of IBM security rules (ITCS300) and may overwrite the configuration file all together. It is strongly recommended that ports are edited manually instead of using this tool. See show on adding ports for more details.

Update: This tool has been made to be ineffective in the Open Client for Linux Red Hat edition.

Steps for using the system-config-securitylevel tool

  1. On the Computer menu, click Control Center.
  2. Click Administration, and select Security Level and Firewall.
  3. Input password when prompted.
  4. Expand Other Ports.
  5. Click Add.
  6. In the Port(s) field, enter the number for the port to be forwarded.
  7. From the Protocol drop down specify whether it is a TCP or UDP port.
  8. Click OK to close the Add Port dialog box.
  9. Click OK to close the Security Level Configuration dialog box.
  10. Click Yes to confirm the changes.
