Tiger VNC Viewer

TigerVNC is a suite of VNC servers and clients that have a focus on performance and remote display functionality. Originally this software was based on the (never released) VNC 4 branch of TightVNC

With this application you can do the following:

Remotely connect to VNC enabled server desktops Remotely connect to a Linux machine sharing it's desktop (vino)

Launch from the command line with options passing options Connect to Windows systems running VNC Server.

You can access this application in the following ways:

• Computer ▸ More Applications ▸ Accessories section ▸ Archive Manager.
• From the command line, type: 'file-roller &'

From within the graphical tool:

• Simply input the remote systems ipaddress or hostname, you will also need to know what display # is being used. If you leave it blank, 0 (5900) will be used. If you do not know you can try other displays until a connection is made (i.e. host.com:0, host.com:1, host.com:2, etc.)

From within the command line:

• Issue the vncviewer command to start a session from the command line. Users could also create a desktop shortcut in such a manor to connect to a frequently used server.

Scanning for the port on the other system

• Users can use scanning tools such as nmap to determine which port is being used by VNC.
